The Incredibles!
You are wondering why THE INCREDIBLES? Well, I will by mentioning that this movie is one of the favorites of my host family but also, they are very similar to the characters. The super father, super mother and the three super kids, the only difference is that Jack-Jack is a boy in the movie and in my host family is a girl. Anyway. They are super jajaja.
MR. INCREDIBLE is my super host Dad, this character will be starred by Eric, he is an engineer really creative and funny, he has a great sense of humor and he is really clever fixing stuff in the house, for example he remodeled the laundry room (obviously with Jen´s help, my host mom) or the internet, as well, he called to the company to fix it, a call made the difference after 4 days without internet, Eric said: “These days, internet is more important than water.”
Anyway, he is really ingenious to play with his kids and also good at finding the solutions to the problems, he is a good home leader.
ELASTA GIRL is my super host mom, this character will be starred by Jen, she is really responsible with the environment, she likes take care of nature but also cares about what she consumes, she usually said, things are just things, you don´t need to fill up on them. She is a really good mother, dedicated to her children, to her husband, to her profession, and to her house as well. Jen advances to do a lot of things during the day like, run, take care of the kids, work, cook, go to mom and dad´s date and finally take her infallible cup of coffee, like the original elastic girl.
And the soul of the movie…
The super kids, VIOLET, DASH, AND JACK JACK, those characters will be starred by Katrina, Carson, and Savannah. Well, they are full of life, joy, and love. Katrina, she is very sure of herself, skillful with her words (she likes to write all kinds of books), and drawing, she is very talented to create stories. The next one is Carson, he is an active boy, he likes sports and also he fulfills his responsibilities very quickly even his math page like Dash, he just takes the time to eat haha. And finally Savannah, she is a baby with a lot of character and lot of superpowers too, even at her young age, I can see how intelligent and strong no less than her siblings.
Maybe I don´t have a specific moment cause there are a lot of things I´ve learned from them, every day even when they didn´t realize about it, with my host family (THE INCREDIBLES) I´ve learned how important the rules are for setting limits for the children, as Jen says, if we don’t teach them how they are gonna learn. I like it a lot as they teach their children not only math or reading but also values like respectful, patience, love, fellowship, solidarity.
My Host family makes me feel like part of their family.
They share their superpowers (the way they are) with the rest and is really amazing, I really like that and it moves my heart, I like the way they spent time with their neighbors, their friends, the environment also taking care of the nature even animals (they rescued a dog from the street) and plants, and now I´m a part of their sharing world. My Host family makes me feel like part of their family staying at home, spending time with me and my tastes (they are supporting me to make a missionary trip that has been a longing in my heart), and also They make me part of their experiences and family trips. That is amazing I enjoy every moment I spend with them.
I´m pretty sure I can count on them. So I can’t be more grateful to God for blessing me with an authentic family, active, happy. A family that has earned my respect and admiration.
