“They Gave Me the Courage to Achieve My Dream”

Living in another country is not the easiest decision. Much less getting out of your comfort zone and being on your own.

Of course, all of this changes when you meet people like Antonio, Tina, and Alessandro.

“They Gave Me the Courage to Achieve My Dream”

Being part of the Au Pair program was one of the best decisions I have ever made. Being raised by
a single mother from a very young age has taught me the value of things. That everything can be
achieved with a lot of effort, work, and dedication.

They gave me the courage to achieve my dream; it was my greatest dream to study at a university. I have always dreamed of being able to learn many different things, to learn from different places and different people. They have both been through this whole process of challenges and learning, they have never left me alone and they have always been there for me. For offering to stay and live with them while I study was key. Achieving this has been one of the most satisfying feelings. I think this feeling is known as “when your lords come true.”

Being part of their family has been a blessing.

They are always cheerful, creative, love music and cooking, are generous and always care about the welfare of others. During my time as an Au Pair we have been able to share many beautiful moments, full of laughter and anecdotes that all of us will always remember. I am incredibly grateful because I have always felt at home with them. I have been able to learn so much from them and the truth is that I admire them too much. They have been in all the moments of my period there good, bad, happy and sad. But always with me. They have shared every moment with me and made me part of their external family as well. Now, not only do I have my family in Ecuador, I also have family in Minnesota, Virgnia, New York, L.A., New Mexico.

Being away from your family and your country it is normal to feel even more nostalgic for the close relationship I have with my mom. I left Ecuador when I was only 19 years old, but I must thank Tina and Antonio because they have never let me feel sad through communication we have been able to express our feelings, watch movies, cook together, play board games and share meals
together has been that everything feels like family. In addition, both have studied outside their
home country so they fully understand this feeling so they have always known the best way to
support me at this time. I am very excited about all the projects and plans to come, being the first generation in my family to go to college is a great feeling. I am so grateful that I have been able to learn so much in this time, that I have matured so much more and definitely become a better version of myself.

Without a doubt, all this would not have been possible without the love, help, and unconditional support that the Sacin family has given me.

I hope that with these words you can show the love, affection, and admiration that I feel for my
hosts. They are really incredible people and I thank God that they are part of my life and I can call
them my family.
