Tina Muschket

The areas I serve in North Carolina

I cover the North Charlotte region, stretching from uptown Charlotte to the entire Lake Norman area, and extend east to west from Greensboro to Hickory

My name is Tina Muschket and I have been the Local Success Coach with Go Au Pair since 2024. Originally from Germany, my husband and I moved to the beautiful Lake Norman area about 10 years ago. I have been an exchange student myself and am very passionate about cultural exchange. I love the Au Pair program as it is such a unique way for families to learn about and experience a new culture by welcoming an Au Pair to their family while receiving high quality childcare. It’s an equally rewarding program for the Au Pairs, as they get to truly become a part of an American family and experience day to day life with them.

Our Charlotte North cluster is home to a wonderful mix of Au Pairs from Columbia, Ecuador and Peru. The girls all love spending time in nature and enjoy attending local events and trying new foods. Our Host families work in all kinds of professions and range from large households with multiple children of varying ages, from school-age to teenagers, to smaller families with little ones from infancy to preschool.

Au Pair Cultural Activities

Au Pairs are required to attend a number of Cultural Activities with their Local Area Representative and nearby Au Pairs to make sure they experience the local community and culture during their stay. Below are some of the activities Tina’s cluster has been up to recently!

Au Pairs enjoying a summer concert and picnic.Our last Cultural Event was a free summer concert at the beautiful Birkdale Plaza. We had a potluck style picnic on the green in front of the stage. The girls very much enjoyed sharing about their current day to day schedule, travel plans and about their families back home. They loved connecting with each other and it was a beautiful day with amazing memories made!

We highly recommend for the Au Pair to get an international license in their home country, in addition to bringing their original driver’s license from their home country. Host families need to check with their car insurance company regarding their requirements to add the Au Pair to their insurance. Visit the North Carolina DMV website for additional information including what documents to bring to the appointment:

public transportation in utah

While the City of Charlotte offers public transportation options like buses and the light rail, we highly encourage Au Pairs to obtain a driver’s license. Host families are also encouraged to provide access to a car or transportation for their Au Pair. Many social events and trips to school are more easily accessible with a car, as public transportation may not always be convenient for these activities.

Uber and Lyft are also an option. Drivers will be easier to find in high populated areas like the middle of the city versus somewhere more isolated in a country setting.
