Au Pair Cultural Activities
Au Pairs are required to attend a number of Cultural Activities with their Local Area Representative and nearby Au Pairs to make sure they experience the local community and culture during their stay. Below are some of the activities Shannon’s cluster has been up to recently!
Here in the Bluegrass State, we love our horses, our food, and our parks! Come enjoy a refreshing day at Masterson Park, an exciting day at Keeneland, or a chill day at one of our plentiful coffeehouses! Get to know the other au pairs in our area through our private Facebook group, our bi-monthly meet-ups, and our group text!

Au Pairs can get a license and drive while in KY. Host Families need to check with their car insurance agency for their rules for adding an Au Pair to the insurance.

An Au Pair will need to get a Social Security # before getting a bank account and driver’s license. Go Au Pair will provide a welcome packet with social security information, on the Au Pairs arrival. We advise Au Pairs to wait 10 days after arrival to get their social security number. You can make an appointment at a social security office, closest to your home.
Child-Friendly Activities for Au Pairs and Host Families
Au Pairs will find that the Lexington area offers a wide variety of exciting things to do and places to visit. From Juniper Hills swimming, to Jacobson Park boating and playing, to the Red River Gorge hiking, there is so much to see and do in lovely Kentucky!
The zoo in SLC is open daily, all year long! Hundreds of animals and fun for all ages! There is also the carousel, the train and a few different play areas.
Lagoon is located in Farmington, Utah and is great for both kids and adults. Lagoon has over 50 rides, shows and events throughout the day, Frightmares during Halloween and a waterpark.
This aquarium is located in Draper, Utah and a great way to spend the day! It has thousands of animals to see and also includes a 4D theater and a Children’s play area for the kids.
This place includes a few museums, Farm Country, and many seasonal activities to enjoy, including Corn Belly’s, Luminaria and the Tulip festival.
