Westchester County is approximately 30 minutes to New York City depending on which town you live in. We have the beautiful Hudson River and Long Island Sound nearby, along with plenty of shopping, parks, with major highways leading to everything. Some towns in Westchester are Hastings-on-Hudson, Yonkers, New Rochelle, Mount Vernon, White Plains, Peekskill, Rye, Scarsdale, Bronxville, Chappaqua.
My name is Danielle Rotiroti, and I’m a Local Area Representative at Go Au Pair in Westchester County. I have been a LAR since 2014. I have a passion for providing support, and I love to see successful matches with delighted Host Families and Au Pairs. I get great satisfaction from seeing my Au Pairs happy. In my spare time, I attend church events with my family and spend time cooking. I also enjoy going for walks. I am thankful for each day and for being a LAR with Go Au Pair!
Some of our families work in NYC and other work from home. Typical family size is 2 children. Our au pairs will enjoy being a part of all family outings which may include hiking, museums, aquariums, parks.
Au Pair Cultural Activities
Au Pairs are required to attend a number of Cultural Activities with their Local Area Representative and nearby Au Pairs to make sure they experience the local community and culture during their stay. Below are some of the activities Danielle’s cluster has been up to recently!
Our au pairs have participated in activities i.e. holiday pot luck breakfast, ice cream socials, coffee & conversation, along with visits to our local mall.

The areas I serve in New York
Long Island is located in the Southeastern part of New York State. Since it is an island there are many beaches and state parks to explore, 118 miles, extending from New York Harbor to Montauk Point. The furthest point is just a 2 hour train ride to the heart of Manhattan, the heart of New York City.
I am a retired New York City Kindergarten and First Grade teacher. I taught for thirty years, teaching the foundations to young children, including becoming a member of your group, developing a sense of self, working and playing together, problem solving and curriculum. I joined Go Au Pair as I love working with children of all ages, bringing them together and building a community with people from different cultures and backgrounds.
Our current Long Island cluster has Au Pairs from Russia, China, Columbia and Poland. They enjoy crafts, biking, cooking, exercising, movies, museums, swimming, theater and socializing. Our Host Families have anywhere from one to five children ranging in age from 2 to 14. The parents have various professions, doctors, health care workers, business owners and consultants.
Au Pair Cultural Activities
We enjoyed a Meet and Greet Pizza Luncheon where Au Pairs got to meet me and other Au Pairs. We talked about their travels around the US, and friends that they have met.

As your Eastern Long Island Local, my territory covers Exit 60 on the LIE, all the way out to “The End” at the Lighthouse in Montauk. From the breathtaking sunsets on the North Shore overlooking the LI Sound, to the Ocean waves of the South Shore, from Port Jeff to the Hamptons, and all points in between, I can help guide you through the very best The Island has to offer from Bagels to Beaches.
Hello, my name is Claudine. I am a Native New Yorker with over 35 years of experience working with children and families from all backgrounds. My education in early childhood and my passion for quality care for children, has brought me to yet another venture, as a Local Area Representative with Go Au Pair. What I enjoy most about the program is the everlasting bonds that develop between myself, the Host Families and the individual Au Pairs within the communities we serve. Everyone involved receives something truly heartfelt from these experiences!
Many of our families are full time locals and work within the surrounding NYC metro area, and many are summertime families looking to spend time away from the busy life of the big city. Our current family size ranges from one to five children and includes both two parent families and a single dad, all who have openly welcomed both Au Pairs and “Bro” Pairs (as the guys like to be called). We are a culturally open, diverse, and an educated team who enjoys activities such as biking, swimming, beaching, cooking, hiking, sports, movies and a good family board game.
Au Pair Cultural Activities
On Long Island, there are plenty of seasonal opportunities for some fun Host Family and Au Pair activities! Everything from long beach days and BBQ’s in the summer to pumpkin picking farms in the Fall. Winter is a great time to take in some of the special holiday markets or some indoor trampoline parks. Spring brings in new outdoor fun; such as children’s parks near the marinas, local brewery/vineyard visits and many minor league sports events!
